Mutendi Montessori Educational Trust Was Legalised
Tsitsi and Daniel Mutendi gave up their family home and moved into a rental property. The home that saw their family grow was turned into a Children's house (Montessori Primary School) that would be the beginning of the empowerment of young minds to become innovators and leaders.
January 2018 saw Mutendi Montessori open its doors for the first time. 12 full time students enrolled. 3 Full time teachers and 3 admin staff including the Mutendis' as the two Directors. And the 2 of the 3 Mutendi Children enrolled as students. Students ranges were 3-6 class (Preschool) and 6-9 class (grade 1)
March 2018 closed the students had advanced in their studies using the Montessori methodology. The notable milestones were the 3 year olds were well versed in their phonics and were beginning to read 3 letter words unaided.
Third term saw the student numbers grow to 17 students and a waiting list for future classes also grow. Another teacher joins the school, making the staff compliment 4. The current location has become too small for the numbers that have registered and at 24 the school is at capacity. A bigger premises is required for the school to grow.
The school's comprehensive business plan and expansion strategy is completed
The directors identified a desirable and available location for the school campus in Mount Pleasant Suburb.
Mutendi Montessori Educational Trust Starts Regulatory Processes
An architect is contracted for the development of the school plans.
The land developers are engaged to start negotiating the securing of the land
Possible final budgets are put in place
Fund-raising Starts
GOAL - To sell 600,000 t-shirts and Raise USD$6,000,000.00
WHAT WILL THE GOAL ACHIEVE FOR THE SCHOOL
- Purchase the land for the school (4 hectares in Mt Pleasant)
- Build the 1st phase of Mutendi Montessori Day school (A 500+ student school)
- Equip the classrooms to International Montessori Standard
- Show the Students the power of perseverance to turn a Dream Into Reality
- It started with a Belief in the child.
